Manifesto

Why Te Vārtā exists.

“I got tired of reading 40 tabs every morning just to understand how the news affects my own life.”

Every morning I used to open about forty tabs. Markets, local news, tech, whatever was trending. An hour later I'd closed them all and still couldn't answer the only question I actually cared about: what does any of this mean for me?

I'm a CS student and an investor, living in Miami. The news that matters to me isn't the loudest story of the day. It might be a rate decision that touches my positions, a zoning vote in my city, or a shift in an industry I want to work in. Most of it never makes a headline, and all of it sits buried under things that have nothing to do with my life.

News apps are built for the crowd: one front page, the same for everyone, tuned to hold your attention. I wanted the opposite. A feed built for one person.

So I built it

Te Vārtā starts by learning your world: your portfolio, your city, your career. Then it watches everything else so you don't have to, and only speaks up when something touches you, with a plain sentence on why it matters.

That's the whole idea. Less to read, nothing to miss, and no noise.

There are two of us building it, in Miami, and it's early. If it sounds like the thing you've been missing, I'd love to have you along.
